Our Thoughts: A great first issue. While the story is a re-imagining it still manages to surprise with some nice differences. The art is very strong and captures the feel of the 2009 film.

The Final Verdict: Overall, a good story with some great art.

Star_Trek_IDW_ongoing_issue_3_cover_AIssue 2: IDW Ongoing Star Trek #3: The Galileo Seven

Writer: Mike Johnson
Artist: Stephen Molnar & Joe Philips
Colourist: John Rauch
Letterer: Neil Uyetake
Cover artist: Tim Bradstreet

Our Thoughts: While it would have been nice to see an original story after the previous issues this re-imaging tale is very enjoyable. Again we see some subtle differences in the JJ verse that enhance the story. The art is still strong but there are some colouring & detail issues.

The Final Verdict: Overall, a good story & some good art.

Star_Trek_IDW_ongoing_issue_4_cover_AIssue 2: IDW Ongoing Star Trek #4: The Galileo Seven

Writer: Mike Johnson
Artist: Stephen Molnar & Joe Philips
Colourist: John Rauch
Letterer: Neil Uyetake
Cover artist: Tim Bradstreet

Our Thoughts: The second part of this reimaging moves away from the original with some major differences that make perfect sense in the new JJ verse. The art again is quite strong apart from the many faces of Ferris. The art also manages to tell the story without the need for words.

The Final Verdict: Overall, much better than part one with the art taking centre stage.
