Destination Star Trek Birmingham will take place on 25-27 October 2019 and will be located at the NEC Birmingham.

Over the 3 days, there will be photo shoots, interactive activities, autograph sessions, themed parties and talks.

DST is hosting a series of talks called ”Teaching with Trek” over the weekend on the Discovery Stage

Developed for Star Trek Las Vegas, the “Teaching with Trek” program is the brainchild of Dr Janet McMullen (Univ. of Northern Alabama) who envisioned it as a new and exciting means to teach media literacy and use popular media as a way to interest students in a broad range of disciplines. In Europe, the “Teaching with Trek” program is curated by Dr Stefan “Steve” Rabitsch (Univ. of Graz), author of Star Trek and the British Age of Sail (McFarland, 2019), co-editor of Set Phasers to Teach: Star Trek in Research and Teaching (Springer, 2019), and co-editor of The Routledge Handbook to Star Trek (forthcoming).
