Harve_bennetStar Trek veteran writer and producer Harve Bennett passed away on February 25 at the Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, Oregon, following a long illness at the age of 84, two days before the death of Leonard Nimoy.

Bennett co-wrote and produced the stories for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Bennett also made a cameo appearance, by playing Starfleet Chief of Staff Admiral Robert Bennett in The Final Frontier. Also the Flight Recorder voice in The Search for Spock.

Bennett turned the chance to produce Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country as he favoured a prequel script he’d written called Star Trek: The Academy Years.
