Theodore BikelThe stage and screen actor, folk singer and guitarist Theodore Bikel passed away of natural causes on July 20. Bikel was 91 years old.

He guest starred as Sergey Rozhenko, the Russian adoptive father of Worf, in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Family.”

He was best known for playing Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, on Broadway and on the road, and for his Oscar-nominated turn as Sheriff Muller in The Defiant Ones.

He had released 27 albums and in 2010 and was nominated for the Drama Desk Award for outstanding solo performance for Sholom Aleichem: Laughter Through Tears.

Bikel is survived by his wife, Aimee Ginsburg, sons Rob and Danny Bikel, and stepsons Zeev and Noam Ginsburg.
