Strange Thing is a sci-fi short film inspired by the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, “Skin of Evil”.

A newly married couple, Kris and Jake, wake up to find a door has appeared in their living room. As the temptation to open the door lingers the couple discusses how to handle this bizarre phenomenon as they discover more about the person they each married.

Alrik and Beth BursellAlrik Bursell is the director/writer/producer of the film, which was made by Bursell Productions 100% independently.

The characters in the film are based off Alrik and his wife Beth, who are both big Star Trek fans.

The short film was funded on Kickstarter back in December 2012.

The film has since had great support from film festivals all over the world, playing a total of 18 festivals, including Toronto After Dark and the Morbido International Film Festival.

The goal for this short is to reach science fiction film festivals and to ultimately to be used as a tool to raise the budget for the feature version of the film. What you will see in the short is roughly the first 10mins of the feature script, I am looking to show the world what I can do in this short in order to justify the production of Strange Thing the feature.
