Paramount and Skydance Productions have announced that the next Star Trek film will be written again by Roberto Orci and two brand new writers in the shape of JD Payne and Patrick McKay.
Payne and McKay have worked with Star Trek Into Darkness director JJ Abrams before when they penned an adaptation of the graphic novel Boilerplate.
Alex Kurtzman who wrote the first two films with Roberto Orci will not be involved due to other projects.
The third Star Trek film does not yet have a title, a release date or a director, as Abrams will be busy with Star Wars. The film is expected to be ready in time for Star Trek’s 50th anniversary in 2016.
